Questions to Ask

  • Jesus had no sins to be forgiven of, and yet he was baptized. Why did he do this?
  • By being baptized, Jesus submitted his will to Father and demonstrated his willingness to be a "suffering servant" and go to the cross for us. How does baptism demonstrate our submission to God?
  • When Jesus was baptized, he received the Spirit to empower him in his ministry. How does the Spirit help us today?
  • When Jesus was baptized, the Father said, "This is my Son, whom I love. With him I am well-pleased." Why was the Father well-pleased by Jesus' baptism, and what lesson does this have for us? The Father announced his love for Jesus, his Son. What lesson does this have for us?
